The HYDROCOW project was proudly represented at several major events in 2025, including the EIC Summit, SynBioNL, and the Bacterial Cell Envelope conference.

At the EIC Summit 2025, held in Brussels, Portfolio Manager Juha-Pekka Pitkänen and Project Coordinator Arttu Luukkanen showcased the project as part of the official Project Exhibition. The EIC Summit stands as Europe’s leading forum where deep tech innovation meets policy, offering also a platform to discuss regulatory frameworks and policy developments.

For the HYDROCOW project—working at the frontier of gas precision fermentation—these discussions are vital. Clear, forward-thinking regulation is essential to drive the field forward and bring sustainable biotech solutions closer to market.

In addition to the EIC Summit, the HYDROCOW project was also represented at two scientific conferences in the Netherlands: SynBioNL in Utrecht and the Bacterial Cell Envelope meeting in Leiden.

Margarita Bernal Cabas and Owen Terpstra, both researchers from the Groningen Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology Institute (GBB) and members of the HYDROCOW team, presented key findings from their ongoing work. These presentations included insights from a forthcoming research paper—an exciting first publication from the project. Stay tuned!

These events provided an excellent platform to share early results, connect with the broader synthetic biology and microbiology communities, and gather valuable feedback.
